Happy Canada Day!!!!

The second most wonderful day of the year! Right after Halloween, in my books. What a great country Canada is, its days like today that I get the most homesick thinking of Canada Days gone by. Usually spent camping with the family, or watching a parade through Robie Street (pronounced Row-Bee Street), those were some great times!!!

How am I going to spend this Canada Day while I am in the Grand Ole U.S. of A? Well I have to work later today, but before that I was sorting the laundry and thinking how I really wasn't in the mood to drag it all the way to the laundry mat today, then I decided I needed to try and find my Canada Flag which I knew was somewhere in our storage closet. I then proceeded to haul everything out of the closet, including boxes I have packed up for our move later this month, dragged out all our sleeping bags, which for some reason we have like three..there are only two of us. I could find my Nova Scotia Flag which would have gone up if I didn't find it. Finally at the very bottom of the closet in the very last box there it was. Like a beacon in the dark, there she was the glow of the beautiful Canadian Flag.
I decided to hang it out on our back steps, so at least our neighbors behind us will see my Canadian pride. We have 4th of July in a few days, and Puerto Rico Flag Day sometime in May I think, so I am celebrating my Nations very special 140th Birthday! Although I have to laugh, the little ol' lady that lives across the hall from us, always goes up and down the back steps and I had the screen door open, and could hear her mumbling in her native tongue, surely not impressed that I hung my flag out there. So now I will rock out to great Canadian music, the only thing missing is a tasty canadian 7% alcohol beer.

As for the laundry, well it's still sitting on the floor in their colour coded piles waiting to be washed, they can wait until tomorrow, and the stuff spilled out of the closet, well it's still there too, that unfortunately can't wait until tomorrow.

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians! A very special Canada Day wish for all of us, who are not in Canada at the moment, I am sure she misses us as much as we miss her. CHEERS TO YOU ALL!!
