To get us geared up and ready for Santa Clause, we decorated our house, set up the tree, our angel who we call Judy is sitting gracefully on the top, and soon I will attempt to bake Vegan, yes that says vegan gingerbread. (My cousins Jen and John will be proud). No we have not become vegans, I am baking them for Paul's Library Association Christmas party. We will see how it goes, I will keep you posted. Hopefully it wil not turn out like last years Christmas bake off. People still talk about it.lol...(See December 2008 blog titled {Public Service Annoucement)
I didn't decorate the outside this year, since some of our stuff was stolen last year from outside, kind of left a bitter taste for me so maybe in our next place I will be more inclined. However last night we did go to our first tree trimming party! Which was awesome! A fellow student in Paul's program invited us over. She had this beautiful tree, but only a few ornaments for it so she invited a bunch of people over to make decorations and hang them on her tree.We all got in touch with our creative sides, as we made stuff with glue, pipe cleaners and craft paper, sparkles you name it, it was there. We drank mulled wine, ate cookies and other goodies, chatted about everyone's experience with christmas as a child, depending on where you were from it was really interesting to see what other's traditions were and what some people don't do at Christmas. I had a blast, and it got me in the mood for the holidays! Below is a picture of one of Paul's creations for our tree, he got inspired and yesterday afternoon before the part we went to a photo booth and did those strip of picture things, and the result was the following.
Just goes to show you that sometimes all it takes to find your Christmas spirit is some glue, construction paper and sparkles. Throw in a few friends old and new, and some holiday music, and there you have it!
From Paul and I to You and Your Family, Have a Very Merry Christmas!! Safe travels!!
