So last night was Earth Hour. The first one ever done in North America anyway. The City of Chicago and various other cities around the world vowed to turn off the lights for one hour as a way to show their commitment for energy conservation.
Our original plan was to head downtown Chicago to watch the darkness as all the skyscrapers went dark. Imagine no lights on the John Hancock, or the Sears Tower, it would be very surreal.

We didn't make it downtown but we did our own Earth Hour at our place. It was really moving to see out the window and most of our neighbors had turned their lights off well!!!! Paul called his Mom in Indiana to find out if she too was sitting in the dark. Turns out they didn't know what we were talking about. lol. I am sure Paul's family thinks we are out to lunch most of the time. We are always doing things like sitting in the dark, for environmental statements. Good times...good times...
