My trip home!!

Aside from my social experiment that I was conducting I really hadn't blogged much about my trip back to the Motherland!!

I had a fantastic time, I really did. Hard to believe I have been back for nearly a week already. Of course it never feels as though you really have enough time, but as my dear Grandmother put it, "go now while you are enjoying yourself, otherwise in a few days you will be desperate to leave" I think she might be onto something there.

I had lots of family time, and took care of some personal business as well which is always dull but had to be done. Drank a wee bit, had a few bouts of the Ugly laugh which I needed and realized I hadn't laughed that hard in a while!

I discovered that my Grandfather was memorialized on a War Vets wall along with my cousins Grandfather, which I was very touched by.>I got to spend lots of time with Nana Flo! Love my Nan, she makes me laugh, I must say though I try not to drive with her . She is 84 and lets just say, make sure you have your seat belt on and try not to look or talk to much to her..lol..

I got to spend time with my cousins, which was cool, normally when I have been home visiting we would see eachother in passing. This time I got to plan a wedding with one of them, I got to see how they were all living in their own apartments...all grown up!! I realized Feck, I am OLD!!!!! I loved listening to their opinions on things, ideas, and their plans!!! Giving advice when asked, otherwise just listening and enjoying their company.

Of course there are somethings that don't ever change really. I got to spend time with some great friends and get caught up and it was like no time has passed at all between us, that was great. Laughing at ourselves and old memories of time gone by. I even spent a day with my Dad which I can't remember if I have ever really just spent a day with my Dad since I was a child, just me and him. We just walked around downtown, drank lots of coffee, talked about anything and everything. Went into a few of our favorite shops. Of course my Dad couldn't let an opportunity go by without embarrassing me once! We went into this store called Little Mysteries which is owned by a mother and two daughter wiccan coven sort of thing. I always enjoy dropping in for a spell, when I am in town, get it, lol..anyhoo...so Dad was in there looking around being unusually quiet. Then as we were leaving he yells over to the young woman behind the counter " Why don't Witches wear underwear while on their broom?" "SO they can get a better grip". I was mortified, and quickly bounced him out of the store before he could do further damage.
