Politics aren't my thing, but I will say this....

After watching the debate online last night between McCain and Obama, I had a hard time sleeping last night. I really wish I could vote, but alas you must be a U.S. citizen to vote, fair enough, otherwise I am sure things would have been dramatically different these past eight years given how many people make this country home but are not allowed to vote based on their "Status" but pay the same amount of taxes and everything else the same as a citizen. To me as watching as an outsider, it seems pretty clear, you have two choices. McCain represents the traditional american way of life, Obama, represents the future. America needs to choose wisely this time. The old ways worked back in the day, times are changing and if America is going to compete in the global economy and remain a strong force that they want to be, I it would be wise to vote for change, ie: Obama. Or you can keep things the way they are cause you feel it's "safe", and watch how fast this country looses it's power and appeal, jobs, and quickly drives itself into despair. Sounds extreme, but it's already happening,Global warming is not the only thing Americans should be thinking about.

This week, I turn the televisions on in the waiting room, and all week there has been coverage of the proposed bailout for wall street. I cringe at the thought, if this goes through it will be a grave mistake. I don't know what the answer is, all I kept thinking as I listened to the financial advisors explaining to scared average joe ie: we the people. Not to pull your money out, just move it to something safe. Easier said than done, as people are loosing their homes even as I type. What is the right thing? Something else I read that I found quite disturbing, in the paper the other day they were talking about Texas having to change the wording in the Child Abandonment laws. People have been dropping their children off at hospitals ranging from infants to 18 years of age, cause they can't afford to take care of them. The state has never seen anything like this before, and aren't sure how to handle the situation.

However I still believe there is hope, when we were at the farmer's market this morning, the booth representing Democrats was surrounded by people, gathering as many Obama/Binden signs and buttons, showing their support and eagerness for change, for a better future for the middle class people. Even my MIL (Mother in Law), called to tell us she went to a boy scout parade to support our nephew, and was sporting her Obama pin, which is a pretty big deal in conservative Indiana, I knew I loved that woman. My greatest hope right now is people stand up this time for what they want, not what someone tells them they need.

...and I cannot get out of this country fast enough! Too many things I disagree with! I can make the democrats look like republicans!
Funny thing is, I really didn't know what I believed in until I moved here and found out what I DON"T believe in!
