So last night (Thursday) I was whipping those up while chatting away with my Dad back home, catching up on the local news you know. I didn't have "real" butter so I settled for what we had. They didn't get quite as golden as I like them to look, but I had them cooling all night on the stove top.
This morning I was getting ready for work, and decided at about 5 minutes before 7am when I leave for work, I would make a cup of tea to go. So I put the kettle on started the stove and went to brush my teeth. I have a really bad habit of walking around while brushing my teeth, so I was standing in the middle of the kitchen brushing with my back to the stove. All of the sudden I hear a crack, followed by glass shattering. At this point I had no idea what the hell happened, I turned around, and saw in slow motion glass flying about 3 feet in the air, and the Lola and I just looked at eachother and ran. Turns out I turned the wrong burner on and my glass pan with the Date Squares where sitting on the stove and the pan shattered, in away I had never seen glass break before. It was like popcorn popping! Shards of glass were all over the kitchen! I finally was able to turn the burner off and it was still popping! Of course now I am suppose to be long gone for work. Paul was helping now as apparently he heard me screaming which I don't remember doing.

So I take my empty cup and tea bag to work thinking I will get some tea when I get to work. So I get there with 5 minutes to spare. Heat up some water, go to add a splash of milk, come to find out the milk expired in November. Okay! So no tea for Shannon! Because at this point I dumped the milk in my tea, and noticed it was curdled. All this and it was just 7:30am! Needless to say the rest of the day just sort of followed suit.
Moral of that story, I gots Mad Skills in the Kitchen, just keep a safe distance and hands in at all times! As well you must always be wearing Eye Safety wear!!

Obviously you had a smashing time going on there. It might help (but not much) to know it's happened to most of us one time or another. Put it down to morning fuzziness!Did you end up taking anything to the Social & did you buy it? C'mon, fess up!
Paul ended up getting ingredients to make his Famous Hummus, so all worked out in the end. Needless to say I will not be using Pyrex pans again.
